Australia one month itinerary

Australia one month itinerary

Brief itinerary for one month trip to Australia – it covers the best of our journey from Fraser Island to Great Ocean Road.

  • Brisbane – arrival
  • Glass House Mountains – great volcanic peaks. If you have just a little time, take a look at the Glass House Mountains Lookout, if you have more time, go for about an hour hike up the mountain Ngungun, views are worth it.
  • Noosa – vibrant surf town with beautiful beaches suitable for swimming. We recommend that you go to Noosa Natural Park, where leads several walking trails. The route along the coast to Hell Gates is amazing.
  • Hervey Bay – we expected more, at low tide you can´t swim in the sea. The town has no center, just a promenade
  • Fraser Island – day trip to Fraser Explorer Tours (160 AUD per person, low season), off-road in a bus for 40 people with stops at the Central Station, Lake McKenzie swimming in the crystal clear water, Eurong lunch, 75 mile beach, Pinnacles rainbow sands, Moheno wreck, Eli’s creek is amazing experience + we saw two wild Dingo’s
  • Sunshine Coast – Coolum Beach and Caloundra Beach – both patroled
  • Gold Coast – Surfers Paradise – main center of Gold Coast, nice shopping street Cavill Ave
  • Springbrook national park – excellent hiking paths, sparkling waterfalls and scenic vistas across, must-see is the wonderful Natural Bridge
  • Byron Bay – Byron Bay is totally different than any other city that we’ve seen so far, mainly due to the people, it is a mixed bag backpackers, hippies and homeless.

  • Port Stephens
  • Blue Mountains NP – make sure you go National Pass trail and see Three Sisters
